Hi salabim, I think this is a very important question for long-time Pythonista users. It would be great to see the existing app updated to a newer Python version while keeping its current features and workflow. Newer Python versions bring language improvements, performance enhancements, and better compatibility with modern libraries. I understand that upgrading an established app, especially one that integrates with iOS, may involve significant technical challenges. I hope an interpreter upgrade for Pythonista 3 is still a possibility. I'd also love to hear whether there are any technical limitations that make such an upgrade particularly difficult. Thanks for your work on Pythonista! |

Hi Ole,
I’m a long-time Pythonista user and would very much like to continue using the existing app.
Since Pythonista currently uses Python 3.10, I’m wondering whether you have any plans to update its interpreter to Python 3.13, or newer.
To be clear, I’m asking specifically about Pythonista 3, not Pythonista Lab.
Is an interpreter upgrade for the existing app technically feasible, and is it something you’re considering?
I’d really appreciate any information you can share.
Thanks for creating such a useful app!
