Summary

  • `datumctl` is installed with `go install ...@latest` (floating, by design, per the existing comment).
  • Its latest release (v0.23.0) now requires Go >= 1.26. The Deploy job's pinned `go-version: "1.23"` broke as soon as that release landed: `go: go.datum.net/datumctl@v0.23.0 requires go >= 1.26.0 (running go 1.23.12; GOTOOLCHAIN=local)`.
  • Switches to `go-version: "stable"` so the Deploy job keeps pace with whatever Go version future `datumctl` releases require, instead of needing a manual bump every time upstream does.

Test plan

  • Merge to `main`, confirm the `Deploy` workflow run installs datumctl successfully and completes

datumctl is installed with `go install ...@latest` (floating, by
design), and its latest release (v0.23.0) now requires Go >= 1.26 --
the pinned go-version: "1.23" broke the Deploy workflow as soon as
that release landed, with GOTOOLCHAIN=local preventing an automatic
toolchain bump. Tracking "stable" keeps pace with whatever Go version
future datumctl releases need, matching the deliberate @latest install.
