feat(people)!: rebuild the People pages on records and assignments synced to Auth - #148
Contract.people.contract.ts is now a copy of the backend's src/people/contract.ts. A record has a name and contacts. Its roles are assignments: Admin, Capo Admin, team member or team Lead, and no other kind. Each assignment shows where it stands with PoliNetwork Auth:
Status
Label
pending
Pending until linked
sent
Waiting for Auth (or "Ending · waiting for Auth")
applied
Applied
refused
Refused by Auth, with Auth's reason word for word
Pages
Overview: every record, filtered by role (admin, Capo Admin, team, none), team, account (linked, invite sent, not linked) and status with Auth (pending, waiting, refused).
Person page:
the profile and account (method, date, who linked);
each role with its status and Auth's refusal;
past roles, HR notes and the history.
Actors are named from linked records, since the backend records account IDs. Role actions are hidden while a change waits for Auth, because the backend would refuse them.
Add person: only the first and last name are required. Contact email, phone, Telegram and starting roles are optional. The record is created first, then each role. A role the backend refuses doesn't undo the record: the toast names it, in the backend's words.
Admins: two views.
Admins, with their Capo Admin of reference (set or change it), Make admin, and End admin role.
Capo Admins, with their scope and admins: appoint, change the scope, end (people:appoint).
Capo Admin area: a Capo Admin's own admins (people:self), read-only. The page is a heading, a toolbar and a table, so management can later be added as a page action and row actions, like People › Admins.
Teams: members and Leads, with each membership's status. A role Auth doesn't bind isn't offered. In agent mode, Events has no Lead role, and its card says so. A Lead manages their own team's members.
My area: your record, your roles and their status, your contacts and your team.
Permissions
New people:link, with its own middleware, for searching accounts, linking by hand and unlinking.
Unlinking takes a reason, and its dialog explains that Auth revokes the roles first and that they come back as pending.
Invites run under the Team-write middleware, since a Lead may invite their team's members.
The fixtures cover linked, invited (open and expired) and unlinked records, and every assignment status, current and ended.
Fake Auth confirms a change a few seconds after it's sent, and refuses every change for P-0012, so a refusal can be tried from the UI.
It follows the backend's rules: no self-grants, the permission per kind, Leads for their team, bound roles only, and no new change while one waits for Auth.
Linking and the invite landing page are #140, stacked on this PR. Here the Linking page still lists pending invites, and My area still accepts an invite from the old link.
Testing
pnpm check (0 errors; the 28 warnings are in test files this PR doesn't touch), pnpm typecheck, pnpm test (185 passed), pnpm build.
tests/people-access.test.mjs is rewritten for the new fake. It covers fixture coverage, the Capo Admin area, Lead rules, a refusal reaching the record and the caller, pending roles being sent when a record is linked, unbound Lead roles, and people:link.
Agent mode, headless Chromium at 1440 px and 390 px: Overview, the person page (refused, pending and invite records), Admins, Teams, the IT team page, Capo Admin and My area.
…nced to Auth
Phase 1 pages (#139) on the backend's new People API (PoliNetworkOrg/backend#105, #106). The contract is now a copy of
the backend's: a record has a name and contacts, and its roles are assignments (Admin, Capo Admin, team member or
Lead) whose status says where each stands with PoliNetwork Auth: pending until linked, waiting for Auth, applied, or
refused with Auth's reason.
- Overview: filters by role, team, account and status with Auth.
- Person page: each role with its status and Auth's refusal, past roles, account, HR notes and history, with actors
named from linked records.
- Add person: only the name is required; contacts and starting roles are optional, and a refused role is reported
without undoing the record.
- Admins: admins with their Capo Admin of reference (set or change), and Capo Admins with their scope (appoint,
change, end).
- Capo Admin area: read-only, laid out so management can be added.
- Teams: members and Leads, honouring which roles Auth binds; a Lead manages their team's members.
- My area: own record, roles and their status.
- New permission people:link for linking by hand and unlinking; unlinking takes a reason and Auth revokes the
roles first.
- The Design team is Design & Marketing.
- Agent mode: fixtures cover linked, invited and unlinked records and every assignment status.
BREAKING CHANGE: requires the backend's Phase 1 People API (PoliNetworkOrg/backend#105 and #106) and the people:link
permission in the IdP.

Walkthrough
The People feature now uses contact records and Auth-tracked role assignments. It adds account-linking and role-management operations, updates People dashboard pages to show assignment status and history, and revises the related permissions and documentation.

Summary
Contract and API boundary src/features/people/people.contract.ts, src/features/people/people.api.server.ts, src/features/people/people-format.ts, tests/people-input.test.mjs, docs/people/*, AGENTS.md
The contract defines direct contact fields, account-link states, assignments, and role-operation inputs. The API adapter maps admin, Capo, linking, invite, and recent-link operations. Formatting helpers and input tests use the assignment model; the People documentation describes the updated model and permissions.
Fake People store and server operations src/features/people/people.fake.server.ts, src/features/people/people.fixtures.server.ts, src/features/people/people-*.functions.ts, src/server/*, tests/people-access.test.mjs, tests/server-security.test.mjs
The agent-mode store models pending, sent, applied, and refused changes, account links, and invitations. Server functions expose role, invite, and account-link operations under permission middleware. Access tests cover assignment and linking behavior.
Role and account management controls src/features/people/admin-dialogs.tsx, src/features/people/admins-page.tsx, src/features/people/account-action-dialog.tsx, src/features/people/link-account-dialog.tsx, src/features/people/person-dialog.tsx, src/features/people/team-dialogs.tsx
The UI adds controls for admin and Capo assignments, role endings, scope changes, team roles, and manual account linking or unlinking. Invite actions remain in the account-action dialog.
People pages and route data src/features/people/{overview-page,person-page,capo-page,my-area-page,teams-page,people-ui}.tsx, src/routes/dashboard/people/*
The pages display record contacts, roles, assignment statuses, refusal details, and role history. Page loaders now provide related people and team data. Overview filters include Auth-change status; Teams reflects role availability and assignment status.

Two small issues should be fixed before or soon after merge: a hidden Lead selection can be submitted for the wrong team, and initial roles in the agent-mode fake API can be refused near midnight in time zones ahead of UTC. Neither affects data integrity or availability.

Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Issue #139 coding requirements are implemented. The overview adds role, account, team, and Auth-status filters. Person pages show link state, assignment states, refusals, history, and notes. Creation requires only first and last name. Admin, Capo Admin, Capo area, Teams, and My area support the stated permission rules. The fake data covers linked and unlinked records and assignment states. The reported check, typecheck, test, build, and desktop/mobile checks satisfy the completion criteria.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The pull request adds manual account search, linking, unlinking with Auth role revocation, the new people:link permission, and invite workflow changes. Issue #139 requires link status display but does not require these account-link and invite operations. The current description identifies linking and the invite landing page as #140, which is not a linked issue in this assessment.
Resolution
Defer the people:link account search/link/unlink and invite-landing changes to #140, or link #140 as an explicit scope target. Keep only the account-status display and other code required by #139 in this pull request.

Explanation
Docstring coverage is 52.63% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 76 functions across 32 files. Resolution
Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.

dateOnlyValue(new Date()) uses the server's local calendar, while the agent API's today() uses UTC. In a time zone ahead of UTC, the local date can be one day ahead. The fake API then rejects requested admin and team assignments as "Start date is in the future".

Review fixes for the Phase 1 People pages (#139):
- Add to team: a "Team Lead" choice no longer carries over to a team that can't take
a Lead, which the backend refused.
- Capo Admin pickers leave out Capo Admins whose appointment Auth hasn't confirmed:
the backend only accepts one in effect.
- After a failed role change the page reloads behind the dialog, since the backend
records Auth's refusal (a refused start ends the assignment) before answering.
- Start dates default to today in Europe/Rome, the calendar the backend checks them
against, including the roles Add person starts with on the server.
- Add person no longer lists a team that offers no role, and the refusal alert no
longer doubles a refusal's final period.
- A record waiting for Auth keeps the actions that stay in People (Capo Admin of
reference, scope, team fields), as the backend allows them.
- Former team members sort by their end date; empty action slots no longer leave a
blank strip on mobile cards.
- Agent mode counts assignments in effect as the backend does (pending ones
included, starts waiting for Auth not), lets anyone give up their own role, ends
roles that aren't bound, and clears Capo Admin references once Auth confirms the
end for a linked record. Docs and tests follow.
The backend records Auth's refusal, or a link it couldn't finish, before it answers with the error, so the page
behind the dialog reloads to show it, as role changes already do since #148.

Closes #139. Phase 1 of #143 (roadmap #146), on the backend API from PoliNetworkOrg/backend#105 and #106.
What changes
Contract.
people.contract.tsis now a copy of the backend'ssrc/people/contract.ts. A record has a name and contacts. Its roles are assignments: Admin, Capo Admin, team member or team Lead, and no other kind. Each assignment shows where it stands with PoliNetwork Auth:pendingsentappliedrefusedPages
Overview: every record, filtered by role (admin, Capo Admin, team, none), team, account (linked, invite sent, not linked) and status with Auth (pending, waiting, refused).
Person page:
Actors are named from linked records, since the backend records account IDs. Role actions are hidden while a change waits for Auth, because the backend would refuse them.
Add person: only the first and last name are required. Contact email, phone, Telegram and starting roles are optional. The record is created first, then each role. A role the backend refuses doesn't undo the record: the toast names it, in the backend's words.
