Closing this: Portainer 3.0 is a Short Term Support release, not recommended for production use, and its support window ends with the next STS in November 2026. Bumping the agent alone would also pair a 3.x agent with the 2.45 CE server, and the CE line ends at 2.45 since 3.x ships as Business Edition only. We stay on 2.45 LTS for now and revisit a coordinated server and agent move once the first 3.x LTS, 3.3 planned for December 2026, is out.
