Explanation

Issue #124 requires repository instructions that keep generated dist/ out of feature work. AGENTS.md identifies dist/ as generated, explains that builds and pnpm test rewrite it, requires separate maintainer commits before deployment, and specifies git checkout HEAD -- dist. CLAUDE.md points to these instructions. No additional automated test requirement applies to this documentation change.

Use a command that also resets staged changes.

git checkout -- dist restores only the worktree from the index. If dist/ changes are staged, they remain staged and can enter the next feature commit. Use git checkout HEAD -- dist to reset tracked dist/ changes in both the index and worktree.

Suggested fix
-- `dist/` is generated output. Builds and `pnpm test` rewrite it (each build stamps the date), and a maintainer builds and commits it separately before deploying. Never commit `dist/` changes in feature work; restore it with `git checkout -- dist` before committing, and skip `dist/` when reviewing or validating changes.

Applied the CodeRabbit suggestion in ec34055: AGENTS.md now says git checkout HEAD -- dist, which resets both staged and unstaged dist/ changes.
