Problem

Published images may retain a Brotli decoder affected by CVE-2026-111497 until they are rebuilt and replaced.

Cause

An existing image does not receive package security updates automatically.

Solution

Close this checker-only proposal. The existing build already refreshes packages, so this remediation needs a fresh build and release rather than permanent CI code for one CVE.

Verification and rollout

The PR build and one-time final-image verification passed. Rebuild with package installation rerun, verify the release images on each supported architecture, publish new image revisions and recreate affected containers. Rebuild derived images against the refreshed parents.

References: Brotli security release, distribution fix versions.

Check the final image for CVE-2026-111497 before publication using the shared verifier. Refresh inherited packages where needed, accept verified distribution backports, and keep package installation free of Brotli version constraints.
